Excellent proximity to the old city yet set in a magical garden. Comfortable room (suggest milk supply for bedroom use) and special breakfast on the patio. Hosts very helpful. In all, a special experience.
The Dordogne Valley has a fascinating history so there is a great deal to see. Our hosts were very helpful in suggesting sites to add to our planned itinerary and making our visit pleasant and fulfilling. Le Jardin in Sarlat met our expectations in every way. Breakfast featured freshly baked croissants from the local from a local patisserie along with assorted bread, sliced meats and cheese and fruit. Each morning Wendy offered us a different hot breakfast prepared by our host David. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and serviced daily. All rooms have “en suite” facilities. The Jardin is ideally situated less than a 10 minute one walk to the center of the old town, not to be missed on a Saturday.

The most welcoming and beautiful place to call home, in the charming medieval town of Sarlat-la-Caneda, Dordogne region of France.. To Souillac from Paris by train and met by the owner of Le Jardin, who whisked us away through the countryside to Sarlat, was the very happy beginning of our 4 day stay.. The rooms assigned were fresh and immaculate with warm and comforting colours and all necessities at one's fingertips.. Never had to ask for one thing.. Set on one acre of a magical woodland with a pool, I could have just spent all my time there being entertained by Oscar, the chocolate labrador, who unofficially takes position as their B+B greeter. Breakfasts were divinely fresh, sweet and full of many choices. In addition to the sideboard filled with these beautiful choices, David offers the hot breakfast dish of the day and quickly performs more magic in the kitchen.. Wendy and David took time to meet and greet us upon are arrival with refreshments and that special time in evening and morning to chat and assist us with direction to good restaurants, boutiques and sites within Sarlat. I highly recommend Le Jaridin and knew I had made a good choice when having to phone from Canada to sercure travel information as to how to get there.. All was answered pleasantly and with good direction leaving me with a "good feeling" about choosing Le Jardin.. The walk from their location to centre town is easy and quick. Because we visited in March, some eateries within the town were not yet opened, but the ones that were, served us well.. The season starts in April, but we had exceptionally warm weather making it very summer like.. I would not hesitate to come again in this early season..
