Friendly people and staff..its an older motel but kept up very well
Our weekend was amazing! The hotel is easily accessible with a fast check in process. The grounds are well kept and the amenities were great. We were there with two small kids. They absolutely loved the pool, the live music and the easy access to the beach. We loved every minute of our trip. The only reason I am giving 4/5 is because the rooms could do with a good update and were dirty upon check in. However, that did put me off even though I’m a clean freak because we barely spent time in our room.
We definitely recommend!
WE FOUND A MOUSE. (keep reading) Worst stay I've experienced! First problem was the photos online make this place look a lot nicer than it is. Their rate was a little less than Hotel Zamora so we decided to go here instead. After viewing Hotel Zamora, we would've definitely chose Hotel Zamora in a heartbeat over this place. I have no idea why this place is charging what they are for it. Our next problem was we saw a mouse run by, and called to tell them that there was a mouse and they replied with "oh it's still in that room? the last guest told us about that mouse also. I guess they didn't get the mouse." I was shocked that they wouldn't make sure that the mouse was gone, and how unprofessional was that response?! when we just found a mouse in our hotel room. Anyway, they told us to grab new keys and we moved. All we were comped was the resort fee - Resort fees here are a joke anyway, especially during covid. In my opinion this should've been a free stay. We even told them how disappointed we were because we were scoping out locations for my wedding party to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE, PLEASE.
The stay was amazing, definitely take advantage of the cabanas daily on the beach! Jimmy Bs was a great bar for live music and drinks. St. Pete Beach is great enough to have multiple bars ON THE BEACH! Rooms were comfy and clean, and had vacation level sleep on that King sized bed (wish it was a California king, my feet hung off- nevertheless great night sleep). Great mix of rest and relaxation during such a wild time of 2020. Will be back to explore more amenities!
Live nearby and was looking for a weekend family getaway to get out of the house during these times. Booked three rooms at the Beachcomber for a Friday and Saturday night. My experience is this is not really a family resort. More of a party atmosphere. That's not necessarily a bad thing just an observation. There was a physical altercation and the police came and a woman was taken away. Might have just been a bad night or maybe this happens often, neither would surprise me. I will say good food and drink selection and nice atmosphere during the day. Very close to the beach, little cabanas included. Rooms are definitely dated but I hear they are doing renovations/upgrades so that should help with that. We had some issues with the cleanliness of our rooms. The first employee we dealt with was not the friendliest but did offer to send someone to clean the room. We had another issue with the room (bugs) and this time the employee we dealt with was exceptional. She listened to our issues and accommodated us accordingly. I was very pleased with the way she handled our situation. I believe her name was Christina. She was extremely helpful and friendly and once the renovations are complete we will entertain staying again because of her.
