Get ready to be verbally attacked. Unfortunately what would have been a nice experienced was ruined by grumpy staff. The man the top who opened the elevator door immediately berated my wife in front of me and my kids because they did not tell us that we were supposed to keep the mask on while in the elevator alone. She immediately apologized for not seeing the small sign bc of the beautiful view yet he continued to keep us in there unnecessarily to discipline and lecture us. He failed to ask us even if she had a health reason and did not even accept her apology. Please train your staff in how to handle paying customers including how to inform them about this before they actually enter the lift, how to speak to customers properly and respectfully without demeaning, that the laws permit exemptions from wearing a mask, that you should never refer to a customer as ‘darling’ in a sarcastic tone, and that keeping them in the lift while you scold them is actually unsafe. Also that when you pay at the bottom, the other man staff member reading the newspaper and looking inconvenienced is part of the problem. Perhaps if the first man had spent a second closing the newspaper to tell us the rules, the man at the top would not have had to scold us and spoil the experience.
Unfortunately it was closed due to the pandemic but from all the videos I've watched and the research I've done, it seems like quite the ride up the hill! Sure beats the Breakneck Steps! Lol
I had my mom with the wheel chair and the staff was super rude to her (specially the man with the white hair downstairs) he pushed her out of elevator and scream at us for not doing it fast. Is quite sad people can’t understand people who have special needs. I hope they can get a training on diversity and client service.
We always walk down from the high Québec area to Petit-Champlain district, then taking the funicular back up to our hotels in high Québec! The price is 3.75$, nice views from the funicular to see the port of Québec. We were lucky that we got private rides a couple times!
The staff is really quick and efficient and it costs only 3,75$ / person one way.
