URBN Jungle is a revelation for my team and I in Leipzig's creative scene. Not only is the event space beautiful, lots of natural light and nice furniture, its modular layout allows for presentations as well as comfortable networking or collaborative workshops.
Sebastian, the founder and director, was thoroughly accommodating as an event host, even helping us come up with solutions on the fly as problems arose. Our 80 person event ran smoothly and many stayed long after the event was over. He also hosted our coding class on super short notice, providing hospitality beyond our expectations.
I now work in the space as a flex desk user and enjoy the many seating options. I already know one of the startups in the space, a robotic pasta maker, and it's fun to be closer to them. Sebastian introduced me to another tech company employee on the first day and I feel like collaboration is already possible.
URBN Jungle is exactly the community I was looking for and I'm excited to become a part of it.
The location itself is quite ok. Open spaces over several floors and casual furniture create a pleasant ambience.
We had rented a room for our event, which we unfortunately got handed over quite dirty, including the bar staffed by the staff with their dirty dishes and a moderately motivated staff.
In the middle of the event, we were stolen from 6 chairs simply because we had miscalculated in another room, saying we were about to get them back. From "equal", were several hours and finally we got the chairs, which we needed, only when we asked explicitly.
My personal highlight, however, was when the aforementioned highly motivated and well-structured employee just came and turned our music quieter, because she was probably too loud (music in normal room volume). I realize that the rooms are open and the internal workspace is connected to the party room, but then you just can not rent the room if it does not work that way. Just coming into the room and turning down the music of the guests, without even a sound about it, is in my eyes absolutely no solution and extremely unprofessional.
At this point it would be vlt. advisable to think about employee training in the area of service and decency.
Basically you have the feeling that everything here under the guise of nonchalance according to the motto; "If I do not come today, I'll come tomorrow." running.
With my three stars, I have already closed both eyes.
