The owner of THE WORK LOFT debt me 240000 baht in koh samui. Please contact me immediately. She (K.VIV & Mr. Tim) known how to contact me.
Great internet, space is very nice, great location and the best part: 24/7. They nail the "basic requirements".
Would I come back? Probably not. Here is why:
- we've seen cockroaches multiple times inside and outside the toilets
- ants everywhere: in the lockers, in the "kitchen", and also on the working tables (some ants can enter electronics and destroy them). Multiple times I would find them on my notebook or on my arm
- every day, before the receptionist left the building, she would come to the floor we were in, and change the AC to some ridiculous setting like 25ºC, completely ignoring what was already configured/comfortable for us and sometimes she would even turn it off! Without asking anything even if only me and my wife were in the whole floor!
- they allow people to talk very loudly on the meeting rooms and outside of them; multiple times there would be a group of teenagers talking and laughing loudly on a meeting room. To be fair, we've seen only once one of the receptionists ask a guy that were talking loudly on the notebook for hours to go to the "call room"
- there was even an event/party on one floor that hugely affected other floors as there isn't anything to prevent the sound from one floor going to the other
- security is also an issue as we've seen multiple times people come in from the elevator while there isn't anyone at the reception. Also happened a lot during that day of the event/party previously mentioned
- multiple broken chairs
- multiple broken items in the toilets
- multiple days there would be no paper towels in the toilet at night
- the cafe closed and they didn't tell us previously, the cafe changed the working hours and they also didn't update the places where the working hours were written wrong
In general, it looks like they don't care much about their customers. One example is when they knew the coworking didn't have water in the toilets and didn't us know, neither they told us when it started working again.
The internet is good, if you pay by the month you get 24/7 access, the location is excellent, BUT there are many issues.
- There's no tour to explain where everything is, how things work, etc.
- Many broken chairs.
- Many lockers filled with thrash and you can't use them
- Cockroaches inside the coworking space
- When it's time for the staff to leave, they just grab the air-con controller and turn air-cons off, change the temperature without asking you, and turn lights off.
- They've thrown a party during the week, and multiple people were entering without a single staff to check. There was loud music and talking even with the whole 5th floor filled with users working.
- There's no sink at the kitchen, and people leave cups full of coffee and sugar, attracting ants and cockroaches.
- Once I've complained via messenger that there was a cockroach on the 4th floor, and someone answered that it was already dead. That's OBVIOUS! My husband killed it the night before. The point was that it's not supposed to happen in a coworking space.
This is one of my favorite coworking spaces. The prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly. I manage to get a lot done when I am here. They have a coffee shop and the coffee is of good quality and cheaper than other cafés. They also serve wine and cocktails. The WiFi is solid, there are plenty of outlets, and plenty of places to sit in the hot desk areas.
I think the work loft is spread out over four floors. Each has a break area with free water, tea, instant coffee, toilets, and couches for relaxing. There are break areas for food too.
There is a mall nearby for food and many options for street food around the corner.
There are individual offices for rent. There is a space for seminars, there are spaces for meetings, and phone booths, but the glass is not sound proof.
The positives are as other reviews are pointed out. Pretty much every necessities for a coworker space are provided. So I'm gonna emphasize on the downsides.
- Can be very crowded sometimes.
- I personally found one of the office to be a little disruptive as it is a relatively big one and the door is often left opened.
- Cafe closed on weekends
- A couple occasion that wifi went down. I have been informed the last one was due to a malicious attack. This is a serious business as people work professionally here. Something of value could have been lost (or already did).
All things considered, this is not a bad place by any means. I just usually found it to be a little too crowded on weekdays. But I strongly believe that is because the location and very competitive monthly price.
EDIT: After I read my own review I decided to change my rating.
