Wonderful masterpiece by Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa! It has been very precisely restored to its original state, offering visitors a great and rather more personal experience with the architect’s work. While visiting the showroom one enters a different world and forgets the outside laying reality of being on the San Marco Square. It almost offers a sort of resting point in the busiest part of the city.

Had the most wonderful experience here that I’ve ever had in a store. The sales assistant, Monika was kind, patient and informative going above and beyond expectations. She showed me different colours in the bag I wanted, and showed me different ways to wear it spending an hour with me without making me feel rushed. She made me feel comfortable and excited about my purchase. Cannot recommend this boutique enough! The level of customer service is unmatched in any other brand! Ask for Monika to help you!

The situation that I describe is very unusual.
The reservation concerned my parents who for the first time decided to go without a travel agency. Upon arrival, it turned out that the apartment for technical reasons (problems with electricity) is an irrevocable, no problem the service Venice Homes & Holidays di Veronica Brovedani, found a replacement room. Despite the stressful situation, the flow of information and help was at the highest level, full professionalism. The parents did not stay in this place, but I highly recommend the company by way of solving the situation.

Lovely on the canal location. Perfect room and affordable option for hotel; large comfy bed with twice daily room cleaning, lovely bathroom, and helpful front desk staff.
Would have offered 5 stars, though we decided one night to try their restaurant and found it to be very expensive (double charge on seating by canal) with underwhelming dishes, particularly pasta, and portions.
Outstanding hotel and staff though there are better restaurants for this location.

13 Chiesa Rettoriale di San Polo

The Chiesa di San Polo is very interesting church, dedicated to the Apostle Paul. It gives its name to the San Polo sestiere of the city, next to a beautiful and spacious square. Founded in the 9th century, the church of San Polo has since undergone two important interventions over the centuries that have changed their original Byzantine structure (two lions carrying pillars at the base of the bell tower are probably part of the original building). The first alteration was made in the 15th century, with transformations based on late Gothic styles and a beautiful portal made by Venetian architect Bartolomeu Bon, the second alteration in 1804 was made by architect Davide Rossi who transformed the church into a neoclassical style. The interior of the church is interesting and richly decorated with beautiful paintings by famous Venetian artists. Thus, inside the church, the painting "The Last Supper" is kept in the facade and on the first altar on the right side of "The Assumption of the Saints" by Jacopo Tintoretto. The presbytery space is entirely decorated with canvases by Jacopo Palma the Younger, while on the right and left are the Chapel of the Sacrament, a precious longobard work decorated with eighteenth-century Salviatia frescoes and an altar with Paolo Veronese's "Marriage of the Virgin." On the second altar in the left aisle is the canvas "The Virgin Appearing to San Giovanni Nepomucen", the famous work of Giambattista Tiepola (1754).

Easy to order a day online ahead of time. Received the locker bummer and passcode to open by email. Easy to find. Easy to get in. They even have an open locker there for you to check the size, and we found the online description felt clear and was enough space for us traveling with two medium bags each. You can open throughout the day. It was super easy and convenient!

18 Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo

We could not even imagine what a wonderful surprise awaits us by crossing the Ponte del Cavallo. From the bridge the view of Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo is magnificent. In front of us are two magical buildings, the Scuola Grande di San Marco and the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo. With the square and the surrounding palaces they form a magnificent whole. San Giovanni e Paolo is the main Dominican church in the city, built of brick in the Italian Gothic style. It is not dedicated to the apostles John and Paul, but to the martyrs of the early Christian church of the same name from Rome. The Venetians colloquially call it San Zanipolo. It is one of the larger Venetian churches with the status of a minor basilica and has served as the tomb of Venetian doges since the 15th century, so that a total of 25 were buried in it. The initiator of the construction was Doge Jacopo Tiepolo, whom God allegedly addressed in a dream and told him that this was the place for his preachers. In the early 15th century, numerous Venetian patricians were appointed procurators of Zanipol to ensure completion and decoration. Finally, almost two centuries after the beginning of the works, the church was consecrated on November 14, 1430. The façade is typical of Italian Gothic, vertically divided into three parts with two massive pilasters and a large central rosette, and two smaller ones on both naves. Zanipol houses the works of many famous artists, such as, Giovanni Bellini, Bartolomeo Bon, Piero di Niccolò Lamberti, Giovanni di Martino, Lorenzo Lotto, Giovanni Battista Piazzetta, Veronese (Ascension, Annunciation and Adoration of the Sages on the Ceiling of the Chapel of Rosario and Adoration of the Shepherds also in the Chapel), Bartolomeo Vivarini and many more. An exceptional experience.
