I booked a cabin getaway with GlampingHub for the Christmas period. I booked back in November, back when you could travel and meet in small groups within BC, Canada. A recent public health order meant I had to cancel, through no fault of my own.
While my host was very accommodating and agreed to refund my entire booking, GlampingHub have refused to refund the extortionate 'service fee' due to a self-serving COVID policy hidden away in the FAQs. They won't budge, and I won't get my money.
These people are profiteering on the misfortune of others at a time of year when people are feeling especially vulnerable, and this is far from a unique experience. They should be deeply, truly ashamed of themselves.
Avoid them like the plague.
I booked a reservation because the site said they allowed pets but when speaking to the host family they said that it was incorrect so they would go ahead and cancel my reservation, WAY before the 24 hour mark. Glamping hub did not listen to them so they went ahead and charged me!!! I called their office left a message and no response, sent an email and NO response!! I then proceeded to call my credit card company to fight the charge and then guess what they FINALLY decided to get back to me! The host family was great and responsive through all of this but glamping hub is a bunch of thieves with poor service and no value for their costumers!
This company allows you to request a reservation from a "host" and then tells you that you will get a reply shortly. I was trying to book a 4th of July trip just over a week before. There is no quick or easy way to contact ANYONE. You just wait. After sending messages to the company and the host I get a cancellation of the reservation saying there was a calendar issue. I missed out on booking other properties! Terrible business practice. I will go so far as to say a scam!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS WEBSITE.
