Unfortunately, the initial kindness of the staff upon check-in did not coincide with the service expected for a 250 cc scooter rented for a single day that we risked tragically ending.
First of all, the scooter is very obsolete (a Malaguti over 10 years old) and with strong annoying vibrations and even if the signed contract provided that the vehicle was in good condition, after less than 20 km due to the obvious heating of the tire, the latter obviously being very deflated, it detached from the rim (initially we thought of a puncture, but the loss of control was too sudden). The only luck, the low speed, being in an inhabited center; had been down a highway, I don't even want to imagine what could have happened to us.
The tire dealer himself suggested not to continue along the established route, considering the vehicle is unsafe due to the condition of the tire.
Obviously, since the customer cannot check the tire pressure, this burden is up to the agency, before having a pre-printed contract signed !!!
Fortunately all is well what ends well !!!!!!!
We hope that this bad experience will serve to open the eyes of the owners of the agency for greater security in the future for users.
I rarely get negative reviews, but unfortunately I have to do it this time. I called the other day in the morning to see if a car was available, they said yes and at that point I said I'd come by in the afternoon to finalize the deal and pay for the car. I arrive in the afternoon and when I ask to have the car, pay and everything, the lady tells me that she has already rented the car .. At that point I asked how we could solve the situation and they tell me that cars were no longer available until the end August ... Moral of the story I remained on foot. I do not recommend this car rental as the staff did not even apologize for what happened.
Given the agency's response about my comment "Scooters obsolete and in poor condition", I feel compelled to be more precise: only when I arrived on site I understood why, upon my request sent via email to receive images and registration date of the 400 cc scooter that I needed, the agency had responded negatively, claiming that the vehicle was not there (in reality it was parked, covered in dust, in the courtyard in front). However, I decided to rent that old Honda Silver Wing branded Rome, registered 12 years earlier, in order not to give up the scheduled tour, convinced by the reassurances on the mechanical conditions of the vehicle expressed by the agency staff (the other vehicles, less capacious, were of lower displacement and equally shabby). Unfortunately, after a few kilometers and the first bends I noticed that the handlebar was wrong and the vehicle "pulled" to the left. I know what I'm talking about because I own the very same vehicle in its most recent version (SWT400). In conclusion, every journey to reach the beautiful beaches of the Ionian coast or along the scenic Adriatic coast road north of S. Maria di Leuca became a source of tension for me. I would give some advice to the agency: if you do not want, or the possibility, to invest in your business by buying decent vehicles, at least put the photos of the scooters on the site like all the rental services that are respected, so that you have an idea of what you are going to rent and, above all, lower the prices (45 euros a day for such a wreck is really too much).
p.s. for decency I avoid publishing photos of the vehicle.
