I passed by this place, loved the vibe of the space, and so went to see about taking a coffee and paying for a drop-in visit. The barista refused to acknowledge me, engrossed in a conversation about travel for 20 minutes before finally fulfilling his friends' coffee order. The receptionist who had been out returned, refused to acknowledge that the barista should have at least asked me to wait or register my presence as I stood waiting patiently for him, and told me no drop ins, you have to become a full member in order to be inside and use your laptop. What bothered me most about his attitude was his refusal to take me at my word that I'd been ignored for twenty minutes(up to that point; even as I spoke to the guy doing reception duty, the barista was still busy with his friends). Yes, co-working communities aren't starbucks and one shouldn't expect to be treated like a customer, but the rudeness and lack of basic respect for a first time visitor and prospective member was extremely off-putting, it gives the impression that they couldn't care less about growing their community or being welcoming.
This place was my home while studying in Tokyo! The staff and locals are very friendly and you will have great conversations. There are many events here to meet new people and delicious coffee. A must visit for anyone in Meguro!
