A beautiful building with great potential, which unfortunately is not accessible and is deteriorating every year. Currently on sale, a potential investor plans to build a restaurant and hotel inside. This can be a good alternative and the only salvation for this facility. I keep my fingers crossed that something will change for the better.
The building next to the Castle, dating from around 1600, served as a stable and a riding school, above which the feed for the horses was stored on the first floor. The historic building has a historic crane that was used to pull fodder for the residents of the ground floor into the warehouse.
Prince's stable - a historic building from around 1600. Originally, there was a warehouse on the first floor. The lower part served as a stable and a riding school. The building is located at 3 Rycerska Street, next to the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin.
The half-timbered stable is 32 meters long and 12 wide. On the eastern wall there is an incomplete Renaissance portal from the first half of the 17th century. It was moved from castle buildings in 1736. At the bottom of the portal are niche shells, while in the upper part there are reliefs depicting two Pomeranian coats of arms and the coat of arms of Schleswig-Holstein and Gryf with a book and sword. The inscription on the door was V.G.G. BOGUSLAUS HERZOG ZU STETTIN POMMERN and V.G.ELIZABETH GEB. ZU SCHLESWIG HOLST. HERZOGIN ZU STETTIN.
The former stable also has a historic crane with which hay and straw were pulled in.
In the years 1987–2014 the building housed the Institute of Germanic Philology at the University of Szczecin.
Externally, the building on its knees does not knock down, some retouching could be useful.
