Lovely location with lots of great cafés and eateries frequented by few tourists. The owner is very welcoming, warm and hospitable. The building itself as well as the accommodation is full of character.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this place went above and beyond. I travel with family as a diamond Hilton member, but this experience was special! I am gluten free, and everything was catered by a staff that was aware of celiacs disease. Amazing coffee and hot chocolate, and the owner gave excellent suggestions for what the locals eat at, and how the public transit works (better than a Hilton concierge any day)!
My wife and I came to Rome for two weeks for a relaxing honeymoon in late December and early January. In the process of planning our trip, we accidentally stumbled upon Domus Cavour while searching for a hotel that was within our budget and also located near the heart of Rome. Domus Cavour far exceeded our expectations and ultimately proved to be the most enjoyable hotel experience I've ever had.
The hotel comprises a single floor of a very large apartment building. The main entrance opens up on to a lobby and a general dining room equipped with tables for breakfast, two computers for guests, and large comfy sofa. Our room was very modern, spacious, and equipped with some of the best beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom was modern and equipped with a walk-in shower.
Domus Cavour is run by an incredible individual, named Christiano. He went out of his way to actively help us learn about Rome and provide suggestions for where to visit. Each morning he makes a simple but very filling breakfast of pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, cheese and assorted breads. The amount of work Christiano devotes to running Domus Cavour is truly impressive.
If you want a hotel that is quiet, run by an owner who cares about his guests, located outside the main touristy heart of Rome but an easy walk to all of the sites, then there is no better place than the Domus Cavour!
Great place to stay, good location and very clean!
We rented the full apartment through Airbnb and everything was perfect. Each room has its own bathroom and A/C, nice details for breakfast, access to printer and iMac...
