Great hostel with cool amenities. They have pool parties and beer pong and many other fun stuff when the hostel is full( pre covid times). Still a great place for solo travelers as well as small groups. It's located just a few minutes walk away from the beach, which is great.

Great location close to the beach and enough to Bangla Rd. where it's only a 10min walk away so you still get a decent night's rest. Lub D is more like a hotel than hostel. Place is big, different buildings blocks all interconnected. Upon check-in the front desk staff are neither friendly or welcoming but are efficient at doing their jobs. They make you sign some papers and hand you keys and off you go, more like a hotel than a hostel in terms of not taking the time to explain their group events or the surrounding area or recommendations etc. which didn't bother me too much because there were posters everywhere for their hostel activities. No AC in the open air main reception, bar, workout, lobby area so it's quite stuffy and humid, never really saw people hanging down there just small groups here and there. It is quite impressive how they have a workout area and a boxing area and their bar area is quite nice along with the pool for a 'hostel' branded accommodation. Stayed in a standard private with a queen bed and balcony also had a conjoining room door which was locked. Room was nice and was enough space for me as a solo traveller but I can definitely see how for two people it's too small. AC was good, showers were good and house keeping every day. If you stayed facing the hostel pool/bar it could be noisy for you and the walls are thin so you might be unlucky with loud neighbours.
Harder to get a hostel group vibe going because it is so big, the events they host do attempt at getting people together but for example the Pub Crawl consisted of 2/4 bars being where they just take all the different hostels pub crawlers in Patong and chuck them into a no locals, no authentic experience just pub crawl cash grab bar. The two ladies running it were great and fantastic though and made sure to include everyone so props to them.
Overall for the price which is a bit more than surrounding hostels I think it's still pretty good. Some minor tweaks like no fridge unless you book a superior room and friendlier staff could be improved upon. 3.5-4 stars.
This is a great hostel. I was planning to stay 3 nights, ended up staying 5. The staff are friendly, approachable and great with arranging social activities in the evening. I wish I'd done more. The tour desk was very helpful in booking me an awesome daytrip around the islands.
I was particularly impressed with the accommodation as I had a Deluxe King and it was clean, fresh and spacious. I rarely go back to the same place as I like to have new adventures, but if I go back to Phuket, I'd stay here.
The concept of the building was great!!

Stayed for 4 nights, maximum of the time we spend inside the hotel.
Reasonable price.
