Reviews from visitors:
I visited this hotel in December with my father for a week. We had two Seaview suites, numbers 219 and 220 which is on the same floor as the supermarket, and that was extremely convenient. The rooms were clean with nice views. My father and I ate at the hotel for breakfast only, but there was a varied menu and the food was cooked well. The hotel is on the main strip of Puerto Del Carmen which has a parade of bars, restaurants, shops and a very large beautiful beach. This hotel is also home to an adorable fun loving black cat. This cat was extremely playful and gave me many a laugh daily. I would leave her a little can of food in the morning and the evening with some water, as I was advised by a couple of the hotel staff that they do not and are not allowed to feed it. I think this is such a shame as the cat has made this place it’s home. I think it says a lot about the heart of a business and its staff how they look after all animals, big or small on their property. I would like to ask my fellow travellers that when visiting you leave the cat a little can of food in the morning or in the evening. The cans are 87 cents from the local shop, and the cat really does appreciate it. I will be returning to the hotel at the start of March and I look forward to seeing this fur baby again.
I will start off by saying this is NOT a 4 star hotel. The Suite Hotel Fariones is more of a large apartment complex with a restaurant. I use that term lightly, more like rushed, feeding frenzy of sub-par and processed food. I ate better in 3rd world countries. I am very disappointed with Puerto del Carmen, the standards of this establishment to not reflect the rest of the island. The room itself was stuffy and claustrophobic and the AC is poor (if it is working at all).
We went for a relaxing break. Not much chance of relaxing in a building site with hammering, banging, dust and unsightliness. Having the cleaners hammer around outside your door from 8am every morning won’t help you relax either.
Look if you read reviews here, and have your doubts, I strongly suggest staying elsewhere. I have found the basic accommodation on the island to be of a very high standard in terms of value for money and customer service. This place is not worth the cost, 100%. The staff are clearly unhappy and have no problem letting you know, from the people on the desk to the cleaners to the people in the restaurant. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a place in my life.
With the recent worldwide health pandemic there are hotels and business that will be appreciative and delighted of your custom. Management clearly don’t care about bad reviews judging from the rhetoric on TA. I’m sure the oncoming recession will weed places like this out of the equation. As I said, this does not reflect accurately on the rest of the island, I hope the island is supported in the tough years to come.
It seems to me from the other reviews, some people must have low standards, don’t mind getting ripped off, or maybe have not traveled as much to other countries, and when things go wrong in this hotel, they go spectacularly wrong.
The best hotel in Puerto del Carmen. Large suites with excellent sea views and very helpful staff. Breakfast is a high quality for a buffet. It is a very large hotel and for some odd reason they do not have floor numbers on the stairs or outside the lifts which can be very confusing when finding your way around as the main entrance is on the 3rd floor and the side entrance through the supermarket is on 2nd with the restaurant and bars being on 1st. On the downside the rooms were given a quick clean every day but a coffee spill from the first day on the tiled floor in the suite's kitchen area was still there at the end of the week. It would also have been nice to have had the air-conditioning on as with the outside temp at 24C, the south facing balcony room could become very hot, I believe not having the aircon on is a local regulation.
I have stayed here many times over the last ten years. One problem I have is that when i am on holidays i dont want to have to get up at 630 so as I can get a seat by the pool. Hotel needs enforce a policy where people who do not use the seats cant reserve them for hours on end. The beds are not comfortable. Nice selection of food in a very good location. Pool is perfect and staff are really nice.
What can I say ,not a bad word to say about the hotel. The room was big had separate lounge area and clean ,staff couldn't do enough for you. Plenty pool loungers ,the beach was a stone throw away. Breakfast was delicious and plenty to choose from on the lunch menu. Everything was just amazing. We would definitely go back.
