1 Collective Agency Downtown

I'm one of those people who researches everything very thoroughly before committing. I spent a month or more learning about espresso machines before buying one I'm still happy with over 5 years later.
So believe me when I say that I did my research—and concluded that Collective Agency is the best co-working space in Portland. I did trial days at several different places, including the Division location of Collective Agency, prior to committing to a full-on membership.
To me, the best part of working in an office is the ability to connect with and even form friendships with those sharing the space with you. After working out of my home office for the past 6 years, I realized that being alone all day, every day, just isn't healthy for me.
The other co-working spaces I tried were nice, had great amenities, and were convenient in a lot of ways. But none of them has the kind of culture that Alex Linsker has cultivated. So far, from what I've seen, he has been an incredible example of a leader, because his goal is clearly to serve the members, and create the workspaces that we want.
People at other coworking spaces don't talk to each other, except for maybe a courteous "hello" while you pass each other getting coffee. Even the events that are held by some coworking spaces seem to be geared more towards "networking" with only professional advancement goals in mind—i.e. "what can these people offer me to further my business/career?" There's not anything wrong with that per se... But the events at Collective Agency seem more genuine, with the entire goal being genuine human connection...
And really, isn't that the most important thing? Speaking as someone who hasn't had an "IRL" community for 6 years, let me tell you... It is.
With other co-working spaces, your membership fees probably go towards practical things keeping the office lights on, rent, and paying the people who own/manage the space. And of course, those things are necessary.
But with Collective Agency, Alex takes all that above and beyond. Not only is Collective Agency the only co-working space I found that actually supplies extra equipment like cables, connectors, spare chargers, and even extra monitors to collect your laptop to... Alex also makes sure that there is enough high quality equipment for every member to use (for example, he's upgrading some of the computer monitors at one location currently), and he spends money on extra things to encourage the communal vibes like games and couches, plus he encourages (but doesn't mandate) member participation and involvement.
If all you want is a place to plunk down your laptop and get some work done, by all means, go with the most convenient co-working space.
However, if you're looking, not just for productivity, but for intentional community, led by someone who truly cares about what you want—then you need to hurry up and join Collective Agency, like, yesterday.

Nedspace is an incredible co-working space for collaborating with other brilliant minds and entrepreneurs, and accessing a supportive community that makes the journey less isolating. Mark and the staff here are amazing and have been tremendous supporters for under-represented entrepreneurs for years! They not only strive to create an inclusive and inviting space to work, but advocate personally and in our community for a better business world with diversity, equity and inclusion. As a female entrepreneur and one of the founding board member of Woman Led, I can say without a doubt that NedSpace, Mark Grimes and their staff have been one of our greatest allies and partners in building a more equitable world! Thank you, NedSpace!

Worked out of a lot of co-working spaces and have to say this one is my favorite!
The space is really comfortable but I'm still able to get a lot accomplished. The staff and the other co-workers sharing the space are really friendly. Lot of great perks, especially cookie/donut Wednesday and the beer/kombucha on tap! And it's centrally located so there are a lot of food options around the area.
Definitely come try this co-working space out if you get a chance!

This community is my happy place. I toured several co-working spaces before walking into Industrious and immediately felt both at ease and energized by the space and people of Industrious. Jamie and Margaret do a phenomenal job as community managers to create a special environment that supports the needs of entrepreneurs and businesses that call Industrious home. I love having clients come to this space and lead workshops from the conference rooms. It has been extremely versatile and productive to be a part of Industrious. Being able to use other Industrious spaces when I travel has been added bonus! I highly recommend Industrious.

Wish I had found them sooner. My office required some temp space for three weeks, and CENTRL was great. Staff was flexible, areas were clean, price was right. Great location. Definitely a win-win for everyone, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

The space itself is the best. Lots of natural light. Always room to spread out or to conduct private business. Very clean and organized. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. I'm proud to welcome guests- and wouldn't be able to say the same about many other coworking spaces in Portland.

There are a few WeWork locations in town, and having worked from a few of them, this one is probably the best! Even if you have a hot desk membership, there are a lot of spaces to spread out, since they're on a few of the floors. They also have access to the roof deck during summer!
That said, the phone booths are really frustrating if you're a bigger person or use a mobility device; would really be better to have small, one-person conference rooms for the sake of accessibility. If you require an accessible bathroom, you may also have to wait for an elevator and go to a different floor, since there are only accessible bathrooms on two of the floors.
And, as always: it's more expensive than it probably should be.

Beautiful interior work space with lots of windows on one side of the building and total darkness on the other. Comes with it's own Barista and a professional espresso machine. The concierge is an awesome addition, who makes his own special syrups for the coffee. I am not a coffee drinker, but I hear they are amazing!

This is the best co-working experience I've ever had & I've worked at many (including WeWork). I've had my office at CENTRL for a few years. The staff are absolutely incredible. They are always doing whatever they can to solve your problems or make life easier for your team. The spaces are beautiful & the building centrally located. The amenities are not matched by WeWork or anywhere else that I've found. Simply fantastic co-working space.

The Perlene's events, extensive slack channel, and community of experts has been an incredible resource for me as I grow my own business. The P has been a place where I can push myself out of my comfort zone - socially and professionally - on my own terms, and with unconditional support from people who started as a group of total strangers, but never felt that way. I've gotten to step into new roles of leadership, meet people from all walks of life, learn new skills, share in business challenges, and seek out new friendships.

I love that Weller's environment fosters a healthy balance of community + connection as well as productivity and "head down" time. It's hard to find a co-working space that can do both, and Weller hit that sweet spot for me! Community events, the Conference Room, and the quality of the Weller network are icing on the cake.
