Getting the 1st COVID 19 shot today. Very well managed and they keep you moving right along. Be prepared for a at least 60-90 minutes from the time you arrive to going home. Parking is either at the Convention Center garage or across the street (pay either way).
A little extra about the vaccine:
The shot is painless but they warn that your arm will be quite sore in a few days. Newest research says acetaminophen and ibuprofen decrease the effectiveness of the vaccine, so don't take those for the arm pain. Be patient and take care!
It feels strange to write a review about a convention center, but this one is right out the window for me, so here it is. This was one of the first places I ever visited in Portland, and it was a pleasant and professional experience. I suppose as far as architecture for convention centers go, you can't beat the glass stacks and the genuinely impressive grounds work. Centrally located right near every MAX line stop, you'll probably pass it one way or another.
Whether you enjoy your experience here will likely not be determined by the building or staff, but the actual event itself. They seem to keep it together quite well.
A well-appointed and spacious building in the heart of downtown; they've done an amazing job turning it into a clearly labeled and efficient vaccination clinic.
Plenty of hand sanitizer, directions, and friendly volunteers/employees. I was amazed at how streamlined they've made the process!
Covid-19 Vaccination site. Certainly different event than typical visit to the Convention Center. Was very cold. Dress warm, concrete floor very little seating available. Grateful for the vaccine!
Covid vaccine #1 Sunday 30 Jan. Everything went very smooth!! Parking is free & ample. They have the entire set up laid out thoughtfully. There were plenty of people to answer questions and assist those that needed it every step of the way. I was in and out in under an hour. Smoooth!!
