From the moment we walked in, it felt every bit of the 5 star hotel it claimed to be. The staff were polite, accommodating there were enough of them around that we could have all our queries answered. The room we stayed in, though not perfect, was very clean and easy walking distance to all the facilities. The whole hotel was picturesque and it's impossible to take a bad photo while there. Will definitely be back.
I have stayed in any many resorts across the globe so feel well placed to leave a review. Check in was a bit a farce, our room wasnt ready by 3pm and I had to ask if another room was available which it was but views weren't as good so we waited. No apology or compensation offered as a result of the wait. Dinner in Harrison's was generally good, try and eat later if you can to avoid to avoid any kids noise ! , unfortunately there is no adult only section. Breakfast was also good but the service could have been much improved. Several times we asked for drinks which never came or came very late. The pool area is well maintained but would have been great had there been an adult only area. The entrances to the beach where embarrassing for a 5 start resort. Debris everywhere so watch your step, a days work would have sorted this. Buses running every 10 minutes in to town which is great, $10 return. Go to Nautilus restaurant
Cannot say enough about staying at the Sheraton in Port Douglas. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're in paradise. The staff are very accommodating and friendly, the rooms are amazing (the bed is like sleeping on a cloud), choice of 2 restaurants for all meals, the pool area is out of this world with a swim-up bar, blue water and wait staff who will happily take your order from your sun lounge. Right on the doorstep is Four Mile Beach which was quite private when we went - sunrise/sunset is incredible. Only a short drive to other bars/restaurants. We definitely got value for money!
First visit to this hotel it has a nice resort feel. Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. I really wish there were adult only areas both in restaurants and the pool. We are used to booking adults only resorts internationally but that doesn't seem to be a common concept in Australia which is a shame. A lot of the staff did not appear to be trained and were generally very lazy at times it felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there.
Absolutely incredible! Beautiful staff and great spot! Would go back again! The restaurant Harrison’s is letting down this resort.
Only Gave it a 5 star because we had incredible service the whole time and didn’t want to include the obvious outside restaurant in the review.
