Was a last minute change but after going by original hotel I think we got the better hotel. Staff are so friendly while keeping distance. Its been a lovely weeks family holiday cant wait to come back next year. The family entertainment through day and night has been amazing. A big thank you to all staff that work here who have made our holiday amazing and safe in these uncertain times. Very safe and very clean
Great place, majority of staff are excellent. Rooms comfortable but basic. Food, something for the majority. COVID precautions good. The one thing, in my opinion let the side down was the evening entertainment, having a disco when dancing forbidden due to COVID is a little odd. Certainly return & recommend.
This is a nice hotel, definitely worthy of the 4 star rating. However our room was broken into and the security team wouldn't let us ring the police saying they would deal with the problem. We moved rooms and in the morning we were told we would have to pay €300 to fix the hotel room door or we would be forced to leave the hotel. So we paid as we didn't want the hastle, now I'm trying to contact the hotel for insurance and they are refusing to respond to emails and acknowledge this happened. Very poor from management.
Only day 3 into my holiday and I was worried before coming as I'd booked a different hotel originally but that one was closed due to covid. Looking at the trip advisor reviews, I was a bit concerned about the move. Absolutely no need to be, the Gala Hotel is amazing with modern, bright, clean rooms. The pool area is stunning and the food is fresh, lots of choice and up there with the best AI I've been to. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what people expect when a pandemic enforces restrictions on holiday destinations, but as far as I'm concerned the negative reviews I have read are totally unfounded and unfair. I'm very happy to have been moved here and am enjoying my holiday as much as I would have in normal circumstances. If you are worried about coming to the Gala, dont be, the staff will look after you and the hotel is stunning.

If you asked us if we would recommend the Gala hotel in Tenerife for a vacation, we would definitely say NO.
If you are interested in feeling like a foreigner for a few days, I would tell you that you are in the most appropriate place with respect to the treatment and services, with a paella that if it were made of plastic would be better, with terrible meat and fish qualities, with a short short variety. The room without being bad, offers a maximum marriage service, which consists of assembling the 2 beds together with sheets and blankets that hardly reach the sides, and full of hair (12 we get to remove in a while, black and long) . Cleanliness, when using the shower, the mirrors are so dirty that they want to move to a hostel;
sheets with a hole, thin towels and super worn, still?
The all-inclusive does not include more than house wine at meals, nor a sad lambrusco; the cocktails are from carafón, the tapas and the snacks are the leftovers of the rock-hard beef and the chicken curry, ... from the day before ...
It is a shame, with the potential it has, the Spa could be wonderful, and it remains at a notable low for being the best of the hotel, with very low maintenance, 2 showers out of 4 do not work, the waters of the pit and the jacuzzi are cloudy, several jets in the pool not working. The outdoor pools are good, with a multitude of hammocks with good separation for some discretion, special mention to 2 employees, always correct and friendly, Jerónimo and Katy.
In short, out of the 4 stars it falls 2 easily.
