Based In has the unfair advantage of being established by a talented architect who can strike that delicate balance of function, style and an almost nonchalant kind of cool.
I’ve worked at many shared spaces over a number of years and this is by far the best. Thoughtful, tasteful workspaces, copious amounts of light, industrial-grade internet, a wealth of facilities, and a highly-creative group of people in a lovely part of Chinatown make Based In a diamond in the rough.
Two basic must haves for a space I want to spend lots of time in are natural light and high ceilings. Based In has both in abundance, plus greenery everywhere - seriously, I need to push away a huge palm to open the window near my desk and every time I do I feel so lucky. The vibe is friendly, polite and studious — its a place where hardworking creatives come to get work done. The event space on the 6th floor is a gem. Honestly, there’s so much good to say. Its kinda one of those places you think twice about writing a review about because you don’t want it to become too popular.
A beautiful, naturally well-lit coworking space on the top 3 floors of a charming Chinatown walk-up. It is run by two lovely people, Tomás and Avalon, who are very friendly and accommodating. Can't rate this place highly enough for any designers needing a workspace!
Amazing natural light, inspiring environment, and a warm community. I couldn't have asked for more in a co-working space. Based In is a true gem and I'm so happy this place exists!
A great working space, more akin to a tradition open studio environment than to a typical 'coworking' space. Comfortable, light and airy, relatively quiet, with great people and a very reasonable rate!
