Good place to come and read a book or work. Free entry, spacious, big windows, lots of light. Second part of the day can be a little harder to find a seat as a lot of them will be occupied by youngsters engaging in discreet smooching while pretending to study.
After years of inactivity, the library was opened to the public at the end of 2017 after a major and detailed restoration; now it is reopened much more stocked, both with books and with various tech accessories.
The central location in the shining historic center of the city of Monopoli and the large free spaces dedicated to studying in the building have made this library a meeting point for every student, who can go here and concentrate on their studies, either alone or in a group.
In addition, the library often hosts various cultural meetings accessible by anyone who wants to satisfy their desire for knowledge.
The "Prospero Rendella" Civic Library of Monopoli is the full expression of the UNESCO Manifesto of Libraries, fully shared by the city and expressed with a modern and participatory spirit as many others as ever.
