Little has changed at La Tourmaline in ten years. Rooms are compact but comfortable, and well cleaned. The dated feel really shows in the bathrooms which mostly lack a stand-up shower and are long overdue for updating.
The restaurant is cheerful and friendly with panoramic views of the mountains opposite and a wood fire. Meat and sea food cooked over the logs is a speciality, but the quality of cooking is adequate without in any way being ambitious or memorable.
La Tourmaline has a good balance of location and convenience. Parking is available on site but the town centre is within easy walking distance and a supermarket 100 metres away. The restaurant serves good quality local dishes and is reasonably priced. All the staff are helpful. If fitness is your thing the on-site pool, spa and gym would be perfect after a day skiing.
