Reviews from visitors:
Tinkko is a textbook case of how not to manage people. I speak based on my experience as a customer from 2016 to 2017. Let me explain:
a. First, they don't really understand what "professional" or "transparent" means. All my communication about any inconsistencies were detailed in emails.
I never had any formal reply in writing. In fact, I do have one - when they clearly stated that my demand for a refund on my time and money lost on on of their famous reforms, I've got an answer saying they thought it was a joke (see attached). That makes a lot of sense: As a Customer of Tinkko, your demands are treated as a Joke
b. Secondly, they had a twisted understanding of even legal: When I gave up with their lack of professionalism and decided not to renew their contract, I've had a glimpse of mr Velez (the Legal/Responsible Point of Contact of whom I've got a Contract With), which told me that In Colombia my actions were threatening and considered risky.
At this point, upon noticing my Legal/Responsible Point of Contact had already shown that doesn't care about being Responsible (placing lots of middle managers with no power except to give me Meeting Room Tokens aka Monopoly Money - to someone that actually didn't need a meeting room as an independent yet remote professional) nor has a good idea of what Legal means, I gave up
And finally: Back in the time, when it came to security, Tinkko was an accident waiting to happen: At least 5 times people entered looking for me with being contacted.
So my recommendation is: Be prepared to fight for your own contract to be respected. And be patient, bc its going to cust you much time and Money
Dear
We are coming only to use the space for 10 days in Medellin
However we are cheated to sign a monthly contract by your employees.
The signing was done by a receptionist (not a qualified sales personnel) who just come in and make us sign quickly during our business meeting
Subsequently we receive monthly billings.
When we explain we did not need and use the services we are threatened with legal action.
You need to reflect on how you do business. Obviously we are not coming back to use your services again.
There are many co-working spaces and we will make sure the public is made aware of your business practice
I write reviews when something is exceptionally good or bad. This time it's because I had a bad experience with Tinkko. As a digital nomad, based in Medellin for a few months I can't reccommend tinkko.
They will try to sell you a contract with autorenewal. They will make you pay a deposit which in the end they can only give you back on a colombian bank account (Or charge you rediculous fees).
It's a pitty that I have to write this review and leave 1 star for a beautiful fancy co working space which is just managed very poorly.
I have been working from coworking's all over the world and Tinkko was by far the most complicated to get started AND unfortunately to get my deposit back.
So I am taking my time to come and change my 5 star review of Tinkko to a 1 star review because my experience with them has been awful.
First things first. It's a great space located in one of the best place in town. The private office and meeting offices are beautiful and you are usually surrounded by great people.
But once you have a problem with billing, then prepare to face one of the worst customer service experiences.
1. Better save every receipt of your payments: They tend to screw things up in accounting and it's your responsibility to prove to them that you already paid them (some times of monthly fees from several years ago).
2. The deposit that they force you to pay is money that you probably won't see again.
3. When the covid-19 quarantine started, we asked them politely to suspend our contract and resume it as soon as the government allowed us to go back to the offices because neither they nor us were able to use the office space. They said no. We then asked them to cancel our contract because of the quarantine. Our logic was that because of a forced situation imposed to both parties, the contract couldn't be fulfilled and as such, there shouldn't be a penalty. They said no, and proceeded to cancel our contract with a penalty fee.
4. They forced our hand to accept a penalty fee, first by repeatedly asking us in writing to accept the penalty. They threatened to continue billing us the contract's monthly fee even though there was a nationwide quarantine.
5. They accepted to cancel our contract without our written acceptance of the penalty fee but now if we want to get our own stuff back from their offices, we need to accept the penalty fee.
They did all this because they knew that we didn't need to pay the penalty fee so they needed a way to force us to accept this penalty.
Please beware of Tinkko's customer service practices. Speak to your lawyer about any contract that they send you. They will always find a way to screw you up.
Let's start with the good - the premises are great, it's very comfortable and light and overall I felt good while working there. Also, the staff is friendly and helpful but sadly this time that does not mean also professional and on top of their responsibilities. Which leads me to the bad part of the review. I've worked in many co-working spaces as I travel a lot and mostly it's been a very easy process. This time getting the pass alone took a good week and the staff members just kept saying - yes, yes, it's coming in a moment. Same thing with my contract that I never received although I asked for it way more times than I should. In the end I just kept working and didn't pay attention - same as the staff. I worked there one month but kept receiving invoices for the coming months. As it turns out it renews automatically and I got to know it only when I started to receive emails that I need to pay the invoices even though I haven't even been in their premises. And the the staff member keeps saying "you should pay the invoices" even after I wanted to close the contract. I didn't receive the contract and no one ever bothered to tell me that it renews automatically. I didn't even come here after my first month ended. Yet I keep receiving invoices and messages with "you should pay". No, I'm not paying for your unprofessionalism.
