Zero was not an option, this is the most poorly managed ER, walk in with literally one patient in the waiting room and we are going on over 2 hours and still waiting in the lobby. This is not the first time I've had ridiculous wait times in this hospital, I let it go the first time as they were busier, but this is ridiculous they need to figure something out to better take care of patients.
Not a great hospital and not really connected with Northwestern Medicine. Billing is separate, they can never find your records even though I have been a patient/client of NM for the last 20 years. Horrible service, expect you to pay almost your entire bill before providing services. Hospital is literally 5 minutes from my home and I will drive to every other provider in this network so as to not have to go here. When I moved here I was told that it is a sub par medical facility not to do there. My mistake was providing the benefit of the doubt. Agreed, don't go here.
I have been in McHenry Hospital three times since October 10, 2018. Two people to a room my first two visits. It was not pleasant. The food was good. My last visit was due to Covid 19. When they got me out of bed I did better. I caught Covid 19 while in rehab. I really needed help ordering food. Couldn't eat and lost 25 pounds. The nurses and doctors used all precautions.
Very disconcerting. Walked in for a test to 40-50 employees in the lobby for some sort of TV event. No screening done for me or my friend. No employee moved out of the way or asked if we need help. In the days of covid a hospital should be the safest and most careful place. We do not feel very safe.
Update... After making a nurse manager aware of the issue it was quickly "fixed". Mistakes are made, but apologizing and amending the issue shows professionalism. Good job.
This hospital is Slow.. It should not take over
5 hours to do a 30 minute test. Plus then you have to wait another 30 to 60 minutes move for the test results. For a grand total of a most 6 hours or more. This is Not Emergency Medicine by no means. I think they really need to do better so people are not spending their entire day sitting and waiting like this. Just my opinion but I'm sure I am not alone in thinking this.
