Terrific Open Space for a Solid Day’s Work
Unobvious Lab stays true to it’s name. It’s not obvious upon entry what the place even is... It seems like just a basic bar, but then it turns out to be so much more! A coworking space, bar, and place to hangout with friends.
As with all my reviews of various coworking spaces, I wanted to share here the most important features essential to all coworkers:
Chairs: The chairs were comfy and easy to work sitting down for a few hours. They are not adjustable office chairs, (which I’m preferable to) but are still quite comfortable for at least a few hour period. Don’t expect full range of motion and perfect lumbar support with these.
Vibe: The vibe is awesome. I’ve never had a beer while coworking before, but I gave it a shot. It was awesome, and I was able to dive right into my tasks without second guessing myself. I won’t make a habit out of it, but it was a nice change. Their on tap beer is delicious.
Wifi: Great upload and download speeds and no problem using it. I don’t like having to get a code each time I go (the network resets and kicks you off every 24 hours), but this might be a feature for Croissant users?
Access: Open till 8, and checking in was a piece of cake.
Community: The first time I was here was because of a planned board game night, so this space is friendly to activities.
Overall, a great place to be for a few hours of coworking, and I can’t wait to come back to play more board games!

Cool co-working space at a great location very close to the river. This gives you a fantastic view from the top floors. It also features a roof top bar and a cafeteria

Lots of digital nomads here, so they're a little older and more mature than the usual backpacker crowd, but it created a very pleasant vibe. The big issue I had is the lack of indoor common areas - virtually all the space is outside, which is not a problem when the weather is nice. If you need to be inside, your only free option is the kitchen, or be ready to pay 12 euro per day for the cowork area.

You Can Work Fast or Slow, Your Choice, But it’s a Great Place to Be
The Hare and The Tortoise is a new favorite among those who need a space to work. I’ve been several times and I’ll be back for sure.
The upstairs has a warm and welcoming vibe, and the downstairs is a great place to get work done or kick back and relax. There’s free coffee and tea ( and snacks!) and you feel welcomed right away. There’s also phone rooms, and I’m sure I forgot other details.
Let’s tackle the 5 big factors in choosing a coworking place to work: chairs, vibe, wifi, access, and community:
Chairs: The chairs are comfy and there are a variety to choose from. At the desks there are small, but comfortable rolly chairs, and I preferred this over other seating to do the bulk of my work.
Vibe: Great vibe. One of the best I’ve felt. Immediately you’ll feel a surge of productivity and creativity just by being in the space. It’s like magic. The host, Ana, is also extremely nice and welcomed me right away.
Wifi: Great. No problems. Download and upload speeds were reasonable.
Access: I accessed the space with the Croissant App. My biggest worry with using the app is that the door will be closed and no one will be there to meet you. Not the case here as Ana met me within the first few minutes of my first arrival and showed me around.
Community: Nice people and a calm and great place to get work done. There’s a yoga studio downstairs and warm spaces to hang out and linger with friends.
Overall, The Hare and The Tortoise is a top notch coworking space, and will become one of my mainstays for getting good quality work done. Show up and let’s co-work together! :)

I spent just under one month working at Resvés and could have happily stayed much longer! The energy in this coworking space is very welcoming, due largely to Mariana the lovely community manager. She showed me around and made me feel at home right away. The desks are spacious, the common areas are clean and quiet and there are private phone booths and meeting rooms available for video calling. The weekly events including happy hour and community lunch made it easy to connect with other members. I would highly reccomend this coworking space to anyone community-driven freelancers who finds themselves in Lisbon!

I go here for the interesting events, such as movie screenings and panel discussions about various socio-economic and environmental topics, hosted in their office area which is both cozy and beautiful, filled to the brim with green plants.

One of the best coworking spaces I have visited in Portugal. The environment is very friendly and you know everyone. I found it very good that you were integrated right away. I also found the idea of having a Slack group very funny, where you exchanged information (for instance if you would join for lunch etc). The motorized tables that you could move up and down were also a highlight. All in all, I can highly recommend it. Nick thank you for your host :)
