We had a lovely time! Highly recommend this resort. Restaurants had delicious food and service was wonderful. The rooms had been renovated, the bed was comfortable ND the pillows were not too stiff. We especially enjoyed all the wildlife! Baby ducklings and all!
Very nice resort, amazing pools, and great service. They try very hard during the pandemic, the effort shows and you feel very welcome. Everything appears to be open, and they provide activities for kids and adults - penguin feeding, lei making, wildlife tour where you get to feed swans and ducks, and fitness classes. All restaurants are open, warm service and food. The rooms have been very nicely remodeled recently during the closure. Would love to stay here again.
Great place to stay on Maui. Plenty to do for kids and all. Great pools and very good food to include Ululonie's. One exception being the overpriced not very good breakfast downstairs at the pond. Other than that, it was a most excellent place, with whales blowing, jumping, and diving just 100 yards off shore. Great picture taking with Lani in the back drop for sunsets, etc. Highly recommended.
Was not impressed. The pool is really cool but that’s about it. It was our honeymoon and we asked for an upgrade but they said due to peak season they can’t offer complimentary upgrades. Funny enough, that was no issue for the Ritz Carlton in Waikiki. Also, the Hyatt’s housekeeping literally just changed our sheets and provided new towels. There wasn’t really any “cleaning” that happened. Even our sneakers which were not nicely together by the door were left exactly how we left them. It was a sloppy half-@$$ cleaning job. TONS of super loud kids and families. They need a separate adult and kiddie pool. We felt like this was the Disney World crowd instead of a place for adults on their honeymoon to unwind.
The restaurants are very underwhelming and wildly overpriced (you can find better food at Paia fish market for cheaper), and the only cool thing about the inclusive Swan Court breakfast buffet is watching the swans and the sunrise. The hard boiled eggs are rock-hard and flavorless, the the pancakes and waffles tasted of cheap mass-produced batter mix and literally crumbled apart they were so dry, and the eggs were sadly also yucky and were the mass-produced powder eggs that average hotels make. You can get a better breakfast at a diner for half the cost and twice the flavor (if that breakfast was not included).
The service is really average in general.
We ended up staying in an ocean front room for a couple of nights and it was a fairly pleasant experience. The website was a little confusion on what the difference was between ocean front and ocean view, so from what I gathered, the difference was that the ocean view rooms, didn't include a view of the pool in between you and the ocean. My original thought was that the ocean front rooms would be on the ground level and that you would be able to walk straight out to the ocean. This is not the case, to be clear. You're on about the 4th floor and the view is gorgeous, but you're still a ways away from the water. More so than what I had anticipated at least.
The included breakfast is something that we opted out of as well, but we tried on day to see how it was. If the rating was just on the breakfast I'd give this two stars. The staff was excellent, very hospitable, quick, and attentive to detail. However, the main focus of the breakfast, the food, was very subpar. Everything felt like something that you may find in a standard hotel continental breakfast on the mainland. No frills by any means. If you're looking for convince because you have kids, it's very nice. It's right in the hotel, you can find quick seating, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I do care about the quality of food I consume however, and this just seemed to be lackluster given the price.
