The hotel looks great and has a fantastic restaurant and bar serving excellent food by a professional French chef and a wide selection of drinks. The restaurant and bar get a 5-Star rating from me,because of the wonderful staff, brilliant food and drinks and beautiful decor and atmosphere! The Hotel has an 'All-Safe' rating by Accour Hotels to signify its outstanding hygiene standards in the Covid-19 climate. Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is located right in the centre of the city, giving great access to everything the city has to offer. The hotel is next to the train station, right opposite to be exact. It is well insulated and the windows are very well sound proofed there is no interference and no noice at all. Parking at the hotel is too expensive, at €16 per night. I recommend the free street parking option in the evening and setting an alarm to put a valid parking ticket for the day from 09:00am. €2 were worth 2 hours parking during my stay. The rooms are big and have the satisfying Mercure Hotels facilities including a double bed, flat screen television, fridge, kettle, and telephone. 210 has a very small bathroom with a small bathtub and shower combination. The toilet was clean, but stained after what looks like many years of use. The room has air conditioning which takes a very long time to be effective due to the very old model used. It has analogue settings instead of modern digital ones, and one of the buttons does not work properly to give the very cold desired settings much needed during the summer heat. One trusts that is something the hotel management can fix. As of 30th July 2020 the hotel was still renovating during my stay. The corridors smelt of paint from the freshly painted walls, but the rooms were not affected. The drilling in the room next door at 10:15am quickened my checkout! Overall, Hôtel Mercure Chambéry offered a good stay and I would recommend it.
How do you want to have good reputation when your housekeeping pretend they haven’t found my expensive Philipps toothbrush In the room.... only after some hours I checked out the room!!!!!
I once forgot my toothbrush in a Marriott hotel in Russia and they send it to me by post.
This is a hotel you canNOT trust plus the breakfast was horrible!!!!! I am crew and I can compare which hotel is good or not. Definitely not this one.

Wonderfully close to the station and with restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Very nice boulangerie for rolls and drinks for next days travel. Nice big beds, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast starting early.
