Me and my partner booked a special Valentine’s package to stay here during the Dutch Corona lockdown. The package was 130 euro per person, and included a dinner with hallway live music and a special late check out. The dinner is in a separate room and can be picked up from Canvas. While we hoped for some valentine decorations, the dinner was nice nonetheless. Picking up the food went smoothly and gave a much needed eating out feeling. The food was tasty as well. Unfortunately however the advertised live music lasted for a total of 10 minutes, and was so far away it was hard to hear.
The morning was less nice: there was loud drilling and renovation work in the hotel right next to us from very early (before 9) onwards. This beats the entire purpose of us looking for a nice and relaxing getaway from home with a late checkout. While the breakfast was very tasty, it isn’t so nice to eat that with constant drilling in the background.
We were offered a coupon for our next visit, but since we live in walking distance and only booked for the valentine special and the Corona situation we are likely not using that. Overall very disappointing.
My friend and I had such a great stay at the Volkshotel last Friday evening. From the warm welcome at the front desk, to the dinner and the ambiance of the jacuzzi and sauna area- we had the perfect "staycation" together. Highly recommend.
My experience at Volkshotel was truly wonderful. The staff were so welcoming since the first encounter. The rooms were super clean. They also have very tasty breakfast with a lot of options. Two metro stations are very near the hotel, which makes the location amazing and very accessible to public transport.
Coffee was decent. Had to leave because of a so-called "laptop free zone", meaning that our laptops influenced the ambiance. I respect the decision but I wouldn't come back here to work.
From far the best hotel in Amsterdam ! The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The businessman’s trip room was also wonderful!!!
Would recommend it to anyone that is looking for an unforgettable trip in Amsterdam :)
