Is a working space for creative people with a brilliant idea to do something but has no space to do it.
This JCH located in Jl. Kb. Melati 5 No.20, Kb. Melati, Kecamatan Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
What this JCH is for?
JCH was made by the Basuki TP, the former Governor of Jakarta as a creative space for all artisans to express their idea and turn the idea into the work.
As a Fashion Designer, I went there to use one room to draw the design and applied that in the sewing machine room, all I have to do just bring the threads and materials needed and work there to saw my cloth design. I'm not only working on this point but I can do more by doing Fashion Show as well there.
Other facilities available there are classrooms, meeting rooms, a creative room to work with wooden craft, a Fashion room, a 3D printer room, a library, canteen, and dining space, and rows of small office space for rent. Last but not least, a long alley from the entrance to the back of this place could be used as a catwalk.
Some activities held there was a group exhibition, a seminar, a workshop and I do a Fashion show, most of the staff are nice and helpful thanks to Miss May, the show and preparations went well and perfectly.
Good facility for Jakarta Citizen. Suitable for design based start up company.
Not eco friendly as they only serve bottled water which i have to buy.
Many rooms to share, to do workshops, to exhibit your arts. But, the place is hardly notice from the main road. Anyway, it is an interesting place.
Spacious and comfort place for social or community event, also suitable for art gallery showing in small scale. Has some small rooms, classroom-fashioned interior, yet simple with not too many accessories inside. Some spots are even photogenic. Not so well known among Jakarta people in 2017, but more and more nice events were held since.
