I stayed here about a year ago. I paid for a cushion bed in an upstairs area near the outside showers. I checked in, dropped off my bags and went to get something to eat. When I came back the entire room was filled with Chinese people that were holding some kind of seminar—right in the space where my stuff was and where I was supposed to be sleeping! I had no advance warning of this and was not even offered a refund or any kind of compensation for this disturbance. It was hours before they finished and I could get to my things. The amenities were nice and the property is in a good location, but that experience cancelled any chance of me staying there any longer.
Maybe the best guesthouse we stayed in Malaysia, and the family that owns the business is just simply lovable. Would love to go back to Ipoh just to stay there again.
Very run-down, needing lots of renovation. Saw a cockroach right after check-in! Mattress on the floor in single rooms with no desk (unlike what was pictured on the booking site). After asking more than once, a stool was brought into my tiny room. A toilet wouldn't flush properly and the other took forever for the water to refill after flushing. Both toilets on first floor down long flight of stairs, however all the beds were on the second or third floors. No coffee or tea. Only one shower stall with hot water. Dirty maxi pad left in a basket in one of the outside shower stalls. The cleaner, I was told, left to go back home to Indonesia. Owner apologised somewhat.
Much better than expected right from the check-in until check-out. The host was very kind and helpful. Her kids were cute and helped us checking-in to the room and guided us around. There is a cat that looks terrific but innocent. The overall stay was pleasant and peaceful. I will not think twice before choosing this place again if I visit Ipoh.

However, didn't return my deposit back.. The reason was the counter was not open, and they will transfer it when it is open.. It's been a year.. I still text them for deposit but haven't had any reply from them..
Shared hall, bathroom and kitchen..
Bed is quite uncomfortable as it was made up of beads in a large bean bag..
But the place is clean and a lot of games provided..
