This hotel is part of several in Glasgow that are housing asylum seekers that have been forcibly removed from their homes. By several accounts in media, and from those housed the conditions are awful, food is undercooked and mouldy and they aren't able to socially distance (even though this was the alleged reason for the relocation to hotels). It has been described as prison like. A Syrian refugee commited suicide. IBIS BUDGET HOTEL it is your obligation to respond to the situation and to create a habitable, safe space.
We chose this hotel as we needed car parking so it suited from that pint of view. The area seemed a little rough so we were nervous about the security of our rental car but there were no issues. The room was very compact and a bit of a squeeze for two people and our luggage but adequate for our one night stay. Very good buffet breakfast.
We booked room for 3 but the room we got was maximum for 2 and we got a bunk bed. No shampoo or shower gel, the bathroom is so small that you can’t even move you hands in there, no hairdryer, no kettle, air condition not working, horrible noise from the nearby motorway. The bathroom had a glass door (in a room for 3??!!??) and there was a peephole aroud the waist area. And if this is not enough there was a mirror just in front of the bathroom so you could watch your friends taking a shower...
