La King’s is easily my favorite place to visit in Galveston besides the beach! My family has been visiting ever since I was a baby. The ice cream is amazing, and the candy selection is extensive. It is so fun watching the taffy-making demonstrations as well. I personally love to get a root beer float when I visit! A must-visit location on the island!

My family and I love to come here when we visit Galveston. The service is always good and the shakes, coffee, and ice cream are amazing. However, when we visited today we were horrified by the state of the restrooms. One of the stalls was out of order and the only remaining one was in terrible shape with dirty tissue everywhere. For a shop with such a great reputation, I expected a lot better than this.
