I'm writing this about two months late. We were in Galveston for Dickens on the Strand which ended up falling through this year. We decided to go with Italian food and this place had amazing reviews. We go in, were seated without issue. The hostess and our waitress were very nice and the place was very nice. The special of the night was the Sea Bass, which we both ordered. The meal came out and tasted amazing. Left feeling very satisfied and happy with our choice. Approximately 3 hours later both she and I started to feel slightly sick. This morphed into to a night of vomiting the fish and shrimp up. This went on from about 12 until we checked out at 11 the next morning. I would just like to thank Riondo's, because of you my girlfriend and I (this is a new relationship) now know one another on a whole different level and had a time of bonding while she held down the toilet and I, the sink. Don't think we will be back and it will be a while before we touch seafood again.
We tried Riondo's last night for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience! We had our kids with us, and the owner came over and offered for them to get to make their own pizza. Then he took us all in the back, where Tony taught them how to shape the dough and let them pile on all the cheese and toppings that they wanted. And while the kids were making pizza, the owner showed us how they make their own fresh pasta and bread from scratch. It was such a fun experience! Everyone was so nice, the whole place was really clean, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
Our experience at Riondo's was fantastic. It exceeded all expectations. Everything on the menu that we tried was delicious, especially the hand made ravioli. The cocktails were mixed perfectly with a great variety of options to choose from. The owner, Don, was sure to check in on us multiple times to make sure our evening was going great. Our waitress, Sheila, was amazing. She went out of her way to do anything that she could for us. 5 stars for this restaurant is an understatement. We can not wait to go back again soon!
First time patrons and everything exceeded our expectations! We were celebrating a birthday AND wedding anniversary and so we were willing to splurge a little (this place is definitely on the pricier side). We were so happy it was worth every single cent we spent. And we don't even really like Italian food.
The grilled octopus with risotto appetizer still makes my mouth water thinking about it. And the red snapper handmade raviolis were also incredible and hardy. I wish I knew how to make the creamy delicious sauce they serve with it.
We sat outside and watched all the activity happening on the strand, which was sometimes a bit loud, but we were happy to see life in the streets.
The place also gets very crowded so reservations are a good idea. We got lucky since we arrived a little later and was able to get a two top table without a reservation.
We will be back! We loved everything.
Service is top notch. Recommend the ravioli pillows and eggplant tower. Can wait to come back. A big thanks to Sheila for making our dinner date a wonderful experience.
