I visited the church on August 18, 2020, and after enjoying its interior I went to sit on the bench in front of the altar. I was sitting with my leg crossed and reading about the church on my cell phone when a church priest comes towards me and forcibly uncross my legs. After touched against me without my permission, he speaks something in Italian which, as I understand it, was as if the church was the temple of God and not a bar to sit in comfort.
I believe that the church is a place of shelter and peace and the priest of this church did the opposite of what Jesus preached. I felt attacked by the priest and I will never enter this church again.
Exquisite church. Great service. First black skin catholic priest I saw. Excellent voice.
Bad smell though through the piazza from the swears .
Peaceful church and beautiful
This is a beautiful church on a huge open piazza - the frescos and art on the ceilings are world class - the normal tourist doesn't get there - there is simply so much to see and do in Florence but it is well worth the time to visit. The one thing that I find difficult to understand is why the church is not kept cleaner. There is dust and occasional litter that seems always to need attention.
