Very happy to find this workshop so I no longer have to work from home. The space has everything I need and it's nice to be around other creative people. I would recommend checking it out!
Love this space! My husband and I love coming here on the weekends together. It's so fun and satisfying to see our projects come to life.
Lots of great equipment. Clean space, friendly and helpful staff. Eli was awesome and saved me the embarrassment of remembering my high school wood shop lessons for a quick closet project I was working on.
I love working at the Chicago maker space!! They have so many awesome tools, and if there is something I don’t know how to use, Eli or Sam are always there to help. Their membership options are super affordable, especially compared to other maker spaces in Chicago. For the price of an isolated studio I could rent in a different building, at CMS I get my own studio, access to a full wood shop, metal shop, grinding room, and digital fabrication tools such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and 3D scanning. Not to mention their easily accessible central location, and the amazing community they are fostering within their space.
So glad the Chicago maker space survived covid. They are doing a great job keeping the space clean and enforcing social distancing and mask wearing within the general work space.
