Excellent tour and museum. The tour guide was excellent. She was very educated about the building and it's use during the early part of the formation of our country. It was well worth the admission price. I highly recommend this place. I learned more on this tour than I did in school.
Building of great historical significance. Museum has much information regarding the framing and ratification of the U.S. Constitution. A history of the slave trade and enslaved people in South Carolina is interspersed throughout the exhibits. Interesting tour of the Provost Dungeons. Well worth the 2 1/2 hours we were there.
I throughly enjoyed my visit. The highlight was seeing an original part of the wall that once enclosed the city in its infancy. Upstairs is self guided and the guide was wonderful while providing a tour of the dungeon. If you enjoy American/ South Carolina history I encourage you to pay a visit.
This is probably the best $10 you will ever spend if you love history. Lots of history describing the building and what all happened there. Very old antique items. This museum does a good job with really explaining how times were back in the day. Absolutely recommend the tour that they give along with the ticket. Both times I went I learned something new. You could probably spend about 2 hours in here reading everything.
So worth the stop in! $10 per adult for admission. The guided tour of the dungeon takes about a half hour and SO much info is packed into it. Carolyn was our guide and she was fantastic! Thank you!
