Nicely located hotel for a visit to Cannes. With a nice interior and nice rooms. Mostly friendly staff. Other guest can be a bit 'special'. Not a hotel for people who're looking for a quit stay. During COVID there was reduced cleaning schedule. For a 7 night stay our room was cleaned 3 times. Unacceptable to me but I guess this will change as soon as the pandemic is over.
I have never been treated so poorly by a hotel staff before.
We arrived this past Monday on a mother daughter trip that we have been looking forward to for a long time, only to find that apparently there is no reservation and that the gentleman at the desk “cannot do anything” for me. When I attempted to give him my confirmation he stated “that means nothing”.
To cut a long story short, he attempted to get me to leave the hotel by insisting that I don’t have a reservation without even trying to figure it out. I asked him for the manager and he stated that he was it. I asked for his name and he refused to give it stating “my name doesn’t matter”. Only a person who knows they are doing something wrong would refuse to give their name. Because my phone doesn’t work overseas, I asked if I could use the hotel phone to call a toll free customer service number; he reluctantly agreed and chose “French” knowing very well I couldn’t understand it stating that “you’re Canadian, you should know how to speak French”.
All in all, he finally called himself and was asked for the confirmation by the person on the phone....the same one I offered right away, and there it was...all of a sudden he “found it”. I can’t even describe all the things that transcended in between as I was handled like scum who walked into a hotel.
I cut my stay short from 5 to 2 days and will never return. I expected more from best western. I’m deeply saddened that I was treated without respect, dignity or professionalism. I have a photo of the man who did this and hope that he will be coached on how to treat paying customers.
I will never recommend this place to anyone!
Very nice hotel, very well located to go to the beach and visit attractions, good breakfast and very nice rooms with a very comfortable bed!
To improve - no fridge in the rooms and entrance to the hotel is a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the hotel!
We were fortunate to get a room on the top floor. We had lunch and enjoyed the views from our patio. Very friendly staff! Food was good too! Spacious bed and our room was nicely decorated! Thank you for a great stay!
This was a special birthday/anniversary trip so it was important our stay was of good standard. The staff in all areas were friendly, helpful and fully professional. The hotel was clean and well presented. The breakfast area was clean and the food plentiful. This is our third visit to this hotel and will definitely visit again
