I was preparing for my CFA exam and spent weeks trying to look for a good study place. Ever since I found park slope desk, I couldn't stop going whenever I was trying to get things done wether study or work.
It is set up nicely, where you could be really efficient and focus with no distractions. There is a new room now with more desks with more sunlight which is amazing. Everything I need is there: printer, small notes, desk lamp, monitors etc. A kitchen with hot/cold water, different kinds of coffee and tea. even a fridge where I could keep my sandwiches/prepped meals! I rented a locker to keep my books and an extra charger.
I would go every day after work not carrying anything but my laptop.
It is very quiet and all members strictly respect the rules. No food or drink or calls at their desk. Everyone is there to focus which is great.
I think the membership is great value to services offered and the hours are pretty amazing too.
The day before my exam, my charger stopped working and I started panicking. I emailed Cosmo, the owner, and he comes back with two cables in less than 15 minutes. I will always be very grateful for this kind gesture.
Park Slope Desk is the work space I’ve been searching for. As a writer with a day job I needed a space that I could use after-hours and on weekends, and was quiet. Other shared work spaces I looked at were not specifically quiet-only spaces. They usually had music and/or the hum of conversations in the background. That was not going to work for me. Quiet is what I needed and that’s what you get at Park Slope Desk plus a whole lot more.
The owner Cosmo Lee, has created a lovely looking space geared toward people who want to get work done. Whether you like working in a cubicle, out on an open desk, near a window or in a corner – Park Slope Desk offers that variety. And all the chairs, which tilt, swivel and roll, are comfortable. So be ready to sit your butt down for hours of work! Keyboards and laptop stands are also available if you need more ergonomic options. These extras illustrate Lee’s attention to what a serious worker needs! Plus he’s friendly, helpful and very accommodating when he can be to special requests.
Overall, Park Slope Desk fills a special and much needed niche in the land of local co-working/ shared work spaces.
Park Slope Desk has been a lifesaver for me. I wrote nearly 100 pages in my first month of membership here and was able to meet a deadline for the first draft of a novel. I'm not sure what I love most about the place--the quiet hum of productivity that lasts until 1am, the excellent location, the free espresso and printer, or the adjustable chairs that have eradicated my back pain--but I know it has all added up to create an invaluable resource for me as a writer.
Excellent place to get stuff done! I am studying for the NY Bar Exam while working full time and I knew before I even began to study that it was hard for me to get stuff done at home. I began looking into coworking spaces but the costs were far too prohibitive, especially if I only needed entry at night and on weekends.
I came across Park Slope Desk in December and am happy to say that I've been a member here ever since. The space is exceptionally suited for hard, focused work. The coworkers here are respectful and quiet. The space is lofty, sun-filled, and open from 7AM-1AM. I currently rent a larger sized desk and there's usually a space with an external monitor that I can use. They have external keyboards and mice I can borrow too so I can feel like I am working at a desktop.
By far the best part about this spot is the Chief Coworker Cosmo, who is more than accommodating to weird scheduling requests and will help you use the fancy coffee maker, if need be. I am going to be really sad when I don't have a reason to come here anymore, but I want to spread the Park Slope Desk love to those in need of an awesome coworking space.
Great space. Comfortable chairs (which is a must for me since I tend to sit for several hours). Great (natural) light. Overall a real pleasure. A long overdue addition to the neighborhood. A perfect solution for those of us who work best when they are alone in company.
