Very educational and fun. Kids love this place. Cheap entrance fee. For tourist, it is a good place to visit. Check time table when they have a snake show. Friendly staff. Lots of venomous snakes.
TLDR: Yes, and get every vaccine. Long version: This is the home of the Thai Red Cross, it is a MUST go to for every foreigner who comes here. You can get every available vaccine for cheap. If you are coming from another country, I encourage you to get all the Vaccines. The cost savings alone will cover your plane ticket. Vaccine quality is high, staff are professional and know what is going on. All staff are from Chulalongkorn, the Thai equivalent of Harvard.
Good place to get a vaccine: professional staff, quick service, very low prices (just the price of the vaccine itself +50 thb for doctor's and nurse's service +20 thb for hospital ID card). Immunization Dept is located in a historical part of the complex. It needs a renovation perhaps, but low costs and high quality of English speaking service make up for that. After entering the building just tell what you came for, then follow the instructions of the staff, navigating between clearly numbered rooms.
Remember to bring your passport (or a photocopy).
Really interesting place. Don't miss the snake handling show- it is very informative and impressive. The museum is also well presented and fairly newly renovated. I suggest you go there at the end of your holidays in Thailand otherwise you will not go jungle trekking or hiking ;-)
