We drove up all the way to the top in our little Volkswagen Up! The area above the tree line o ly has gravel roads, some pretty rocky, but if you drive slowly no problem. The views from the top are awesome in all directions. You can see Monte Vettore and also the Gran Sasso massif further south. There are a number of hiking trails laid out too.

Very good Place for hiking, Mountainbiking and paragliding as well - with 3 takeoffs in several directioms - almost easy toplanding - easy to fly high over Center of Assisi - lovely historic and holy town
Assisi in Italy is beautiful and serene, the cathedral is magnificent. The town is quaint and easy to walk around and there are many little shops and places to eat.
Beautiful hike from Spello to Assisi, around 19 km, enjoying amazing views of the ancient (and disappeared), Tiberino lake, actually transformed in the very fertile umbra valley, and the unique landscape formations, the doline, depressions caused by collapsed caves in ancient times.
I know there's a longer route (which I haven't personally taken), that goes along an ancient Roman aqueduct
