For a short period I needed a workplace in the center of Mechelen. After some searching, I came across SecondDesk. What I found was a collective of enthusiastic creatives: freelancers, graphic designers, IT people, artists and more. Their energy was contagious. SecondDesk is a community. What really speaks to them is that I still felt comfortable there, although I did not immediately fit into the picture (in terms of job, interests, hipness, etc.). Obed is the manager and is very engaging and thoughtful. He makes great efforts to make everyone happy. If you are unsure, you can undoubtedly ask to sniff the atmosphere for a day. I would recommend everyone to consider this workplace.
A super nice place where I really enjoyed working and sometimes going to work. For example, I even commuted for a year between Leuven and Mechelen because this cosiness and atmosphere is hard to find Leuven. A creative environment with very sweet co-workers. A serious recommendation!
