Reviews from visitors:
Do not book with CityDen until this pandemic is over! They make their refund policy up as they go along to ensure that they keep the money of those unable to travel because of current circumstances.
We initially booked for April 2020, but couldn’t travel because of lockdown; CityDen, despite saying a lockdown would result in a refund, refused to give us our money back and told us to rebook later in the year. Due to the professions of those in our group, the only weekend we could do was 18-20 December, so we booked this, naively thinking things would be ‘normal’ by this point.
By late summer, we realised that this trip might not go ahead in December, as the UK doesn’t have a travel corridor with the Netherlands: the hotel responded that they are open for business and that there aren’t any restrictions in place in the Netherlands, so a refund would only be issued upon confirmation of members of the party testing positive for the virus.
Fast forward to now and a member of our party has tested positive for the virus... guess what? CityDen have moved the goalposts again and refuse to refund our stay. Shock. They still claim that they have ‘no restrictions’ in place, despite the fact visitors from the UK have to quarantine for ten days, so we wouldn’t be allowed to leave the hotel even if we did rock up with our Covid infected party!
Some of our party work in the leisure and hospitality sector and are experiencing first-hand the damage that this pandemic is causing, but providing prospective guests with conflicting policies, and refusing to honour such ‘policies’ once the conditions have been met, is just, quite simply, terrible customer service. I think it’s fair to say that even when better times return, we would avoid booking with CityDen at all costs.
Good Apartment for a very good price. Some say it is not comparable to a good hotel and it might be true, but it is still a good option for a simple stay. Friendly staff
Horrendous experience. Do NOT recommend - consider other alternatives that have check-in desks open for longer hours and store bags, etc. These guys are 1) late for check-ins, 2) say “it’s not our fault” when there’s a facility problem, 3) walk into the apartment and change things without asking, or informing the tenant. In general zero idea on customer service and caution with payment and invoicing. They ended up putting a sum on my credit card of their choice without my consent. Is it even legal? The apartment was mostly clean but the couch was full of stains and most of the kitchenware was chipped (cups, plates, even knives...). These people do not know how to run hospitality business.
Excellent location and the apartment was nice and fully equipped. My only complaint is that the bathroom is inside the room in sort of a cupboard with a glass door so if you poop, people in the room can hear and probably smell everything. Other than that everything was great.
If you like to live in a closet, then you can choose Cityden. It's so small you literally don't have place for your bags. Wifi doesn't work, no soap, no paper, mice infestation. Note, what you see on their pictures is not what you actually get!
